;five reasons I read fanfiction (and five reasons I write it)

I love fanfiction. I’ve been reading it since I was a teenager, and writing it just as long, even if I never posted those anywhere. It’s fun, and sometimes messy, and if you’re searching on Archive Of Our Own (AO3)? Usually tagged well so you can avoid triggers and other things that may make you uncomfortable. More information and the full #Project14Lists can be found here. Someday, I will actually sit down and write a more coherent post about why I love fanficiton with links to some of my favourites, and maybe even my own, but today is not that day. Today is a day for a little bit of…

;five tropes that I unashamedly love

This is not the first time I’m writing about tropes. This is not even the first time I am writing about tropes I love. I have yelled – not so extensively, but I’ve YELLED – about this before.* *See: instant to-read; the tropes edition and handle with care; the tropes edition for proof. More information and the full #Project14Lists can be found here. I love these tropes so much, but I will say this though – I would love to see more diverse representation. I’ve seen some, especially recently, but give me more. Give me more of these tropes with protagonists of colour. Give me these tropes with non-straight pairings…

;new recipes I tried (and loved) this year

This is technically not a book related post. But it is also not a recipe, which is why I am going with this header. Don’t judge? So a few years ago, I stole a resolution idea from a friend to try a new recipe a month. I’ve done pretty well, and this year, I definitely tried more than 12 new recipes.* *Thank you, Pinterest! More information and the full #Project14Lists can be found here. If you follow me on my personal Instagram account, you might have seen a few photos. If you don’t, well, I’m linking to them. And possibly to the recipes, because they are GOOD and worth trying.…

;seven 2019 books I cannot wait for

This list is full of books that I am SUPER EXCITED ABOUT 2019 CANNOT COME SOON ENOUGH. Also the likelihood of me splurging on all of them is high. Or at the very least, convincing people to get my these books.* *My 5th anniversary just passed and while my husband has already gotten me gifts – we do a budget thing where we then proceed to buy ourselves stuff – I could probably convince my family to pre-order one or two of these books for me… More information and the full #Project14Lists can be found here. I am not going to apologise about the fact that all of these books…

;three books that came out in 2018 that I didn’t manage to read

Every time I tell myself I’m going to make my way through my TBR, I add more things to it. I know I’m not alone in this, but I wish there was a way to actually sit down and catch up with all my reading so I can read books as they come out too. That’s the dream. More information and the full #Project14Lists can be found here. There are a lot of books that came out this year that somehow I did not manage to get my hands on either because they were super expensive or because they are not even available locally. Online shopping is great and all,…

    ;my favourite christmas movies

It’s Christmas! I may not celebrate it personally, but I love parts of the holiday. Mostly the presents but also some of the movies. But mostly the presents. More information and the full #Project14Lists can be found here. There are a few Christmas movies that I do love, however, and wouldn’t mind rewatching every year. I’ve got to see if I can find them so I can watch them with the daughter this year… The Santa Claus. Look, this was a staple in the house when it came out because Tim Allen, and it was funny and wholesome, and I still cannot get over the fact that David Krumholtz was…

;five books I recommended to everyone this year

It’s a little bit weird for me, to be posting things on the blog back to back. I’m more of a once a week person, it’s much easier on my mental health. I’ll be going back to that in January, unless Shealea or some other awesome person comes up with another thing I can take part with. More information and the full #Project14Lists can be found here. As most people in my life know, I will talk about books to everyone. I say ‘to’ instead of ‘with’ because most of the people in my life just indulge me but aren’t actually as in love with books as I am. Thankfully,…

    SPOTLIGHT; #Project14Lists

We interrupt our regular schedule to bring you this post. Well, technically, my regular schedule for the month was just going to be a wrap-up post for the year. Which I’ll still be doing at the very end of the year. But also a few days ago I finally had a chance to sit and read Shealea @ That Bookshelf Bitch‘s blogging anniversary post and found out about #Project14Lists. The fact that I had not heard about it before confused me, at first, before I remembered I’ve been very inactive on social media. And as much as I love to try to stay on top of things, I fall behind.…
