;three books that came out in 2018 that I didn’t manage to read

bookworm things

Every time I tell myself I’m going to make my way through my TBR, I add more things to it. I know I’m not alone in this, but I wish there was a way to actually sit down and catch up with all my reading so I can read books as they come out too.

That’s the dream.

#project14lists day 3

There are a lot of books that came out this year that somehow I did not manage to get my hands on either because they were super expensive or because they are not even available locally. Online shopping is great and all, but sometimes you just want the book in your hand immediately, you know?

So these are three books I really want to read that came out this year but I have not read them yet. I will! Hopefully next year.

  • The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton.
I’ve heard so many rave reviews for this, and the cover is GORGEOUS, but when it came out, it was pretty expensive for me to pick up. I’m trying to see if the local library has a copy.
  • A Spark Of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna.
I am SO MAD that this doesn’t seem to be available locally because I want it so bad. Honestly, I’m more than a little tempted to organise a gift exchange with friends just so I can convince one of them to get this for me.
  • Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi.
I actually almost picked this one up a while back, but someone mentioned that the sequel comes out next year? And I’m thinking about now waiting to get them both together so I can read them without having to wait.

2018 was a good year on the (diverse) book front, and 2019 looks to be keeping this up! My next post talks about 2019 books, so look out for that tomorrow.

What are some books that came out this year that you wanted to read but didn’t get to?
