SPOTLIGHT; #YARC2019
We interrupt our regular schedule to bring you this post.
I usually keep myself from taking part in reading challenges. I can never keep up, I go into reading slumps, things just spiral out of control and I find myself disheartened and stressed and anxious for failing at them.
But this one.
THIS ONE.
You guys, it speaks to my soul.
A challenge, for reading Asian-inspired novels? By Asian authors?
It’s like a challenge specifically created for me.
On top of that, there are levels of targets to hit, so obviously I’ve signed up for the lowest. If I read more than that, great! If not, well, that’s okay too. No stress.
What is #YARC2019 exactly?
It is the Year of the Asian Reading Challenge hosted by Shealea @ Shut Up, Shealea, CW @ The Quiet Pond, Lily @ Sprinkles Of Dreams and Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads. The challenge is to read as many books written by Asian authors as you can within the year of 2019. These books can be backlist books, debuts or ARCs. So long as it is written by an Asian author, and you have started and completed the book in 2019, you can add it to your list.
As I mentioned above, there are TARGET LEVELS and the badges are adorable. I’ve chosen the lowest target, which is the Philippine tarsier, anywhere from 1 to 10 books.
This post will also be used to track my progress for the challenge, with links to appropriate book reviews. I also have started a thread on Twitter so everything will be linked there as well.

I love the sound of this reading challenge! I don’t do year long reading challenges anymore because I never pay attention to them and I never end up remembering about them until the end of the year! But I hope a lot of people end up joining in and reading more abooks by Asian authors!!

I don’t usually take part in challenges at all, but I loved that this had target levels, so I couldn’t resist! It seems like it’s going to be fun, and I think some of my reads may crossover with your read-a-thon too, so I’m excited.

Oh yes, that is perfect to double up with. I am so excited x
