;the third annual 2019 book blogger awards nominations

I have been seeing SO MANY nomination posts for The Third Annual 2019 Book Blogger Awards hosted by May @ Forever And Everly that I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and gush about some of my favourite book bloggers*. There are A LOT of categories, and I will not be nominating someone for all of them, but I’m going to try and also nominate someone different for each category. Full details can be found on May’s blog here.

*I love and follow a lot of book bloggers, and unfortunately I cannot gush about them all. But remember I love you all!

BEST OF THEIR AGE

  • Best Pre-Teen/Teen Book Blogger (13-19)
Hi, if you are not following Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads, then are you really living your best life? I always get so excited when I get an email telling me Vicky has a new post. Without fail. Not only are her posts fun and engaging, her discussions are also thought-provoking, and she is so wonderful to talk to!
  • Best Adult Book Blogger (20+)
Krysta and Briana @ Pages Unbound have some of the most thought-provoking discussions I have come across! These two also take about book-adjacent things, and have posts to help other bloggers grow their blog and do their best, and they have been such a help to me personally, and I adore them.

BEST OF BOOK BLOGGING

  • Best Book Reviews
Rain @ bookdragonism‘s reviews, without fail, make me laugh and get excited and rush off to my TBR. The books are equal parts full of heart and genuine feeling, as well as just enough of facts and nuance to make them balanced and fun to read. I can’t say that for a lot of reviews. Reviews that are fun to read are hard to come by, in my opinion. Rain somehow manages.
  • Best Book Recommendations
Nandini @ Unputdownable Books makes some of the BEST recommendation posts. She has a way of making the books sound so gripping and interesting, and I get very excited whenever I see Nandini has a new recommendation, because almost always? I will enjoy anything she recommends to me.
  • Best Discussion Posts
Shri @ Sun And Chai is a blog I started following earlier this year and, wow, Shri is really wonderful? Shri is not afraid to tackle difficult subjects, and also lighter ones, and the tone of Shri’s blog is frank and open, and I adore it so much.
  • Best Blog Aesthetic
A part of me is also saying this because Charvi @ Not Just Fiction has one of the most amazing bookstagram themes, and that translates onto her blog, but if you haven’t seen Charvi’s blog yet, what are you waiting for? It’s inviting and colourful, and her posts are also so much fun to read.
  • Best Blogging/Writing Voice
I adore, adore, adore Fadwa @ Word Wonders writing so much. She is eloquent as eff, and not afraid to be honest and tackle the harder subjects. She has a few series to boost otherwise quieter voices that just highlights her wonderfulness. And her voice is so distinctive that I could read a piece with no byline and know it’s Fadwa.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Best Social Media Influencer
Jenn @ Jenniely is really out there doing the Most in getting books to people as well. She’s one of my favourite people because she is so genuine, and constantly engaged on multiple platforms. (She also has a shop where she makes bookmarks and bookish jewelry and now does graphic commisions for blogs!)
  • Best Personality
You know how sometimes there are people you can just tell are going to be bubbly and happy and friendly, even on paper? Olivia @ Olivia’s Catastrophe is exactly that. Her posts are fun and engaging, and you can tell that she’s completely genuine! And if you follow her on multiple platforms, you will see her friendliness and bubbliness come across even brighter!
  • Friendliest Member of the Community
Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books has created discord chats specifically for bringing bloggers together and promoting their work. She has an engaging voice and a approachable disposition, and I think she’s a pillar to the community who does not even know it. I adore her blog and her so much!
  • Best at Promoting Diverse Books
Have you met my saviour Kate @ Your Tita Kate yet? Not only is Kate friendly and easy to talk to, she is also a huge advocate of promoting diverse reads, and her recommendations have been very much On Point, and if Kate recommends it? I trust it to be a good read and so should you!

MOST IMPORTANTLY

  • Best Small Book Blogger (under 1,000 followers)
I think Prags @ The Inked In Blog has under than 1k followers, and she deserves more! Her posts are engaging and fun, and she also blogs about music and movies, and
  • Best Overall Book Blogger
I was going to put Shealea @ Shut Up, Shealea under another category, but honestly Shealea is constantly coming up with new ways to boost voices, and creating new series and challenges despite her work commitments. She is doing SO MUCH for the community and I adore her, and am so glad to be following her.

I missed out on all the genre nominations, because I blanked out completely on them. And there are SO MANY other bloggers who are amazing and wonderful who I love and admire, and I wish I could nominate everyone for everything, but I couldn’t. Sorry, and remember you are amazing!

I’m Ara, a Southeast Asian writer who someday hopes to have published a novel, and who is currently losing herself in the worlds created by others. I love books and food and television and blogging and I get distracted and sidetracked easily.
