;four reasons to read the oremere chronicles ft. character aesthetics

The thrilling conclusion of The Oremere Chronicles, Helen Sheuerer’s debut trilogy, was released on the 25th of July this year. War Of Mist was fast-paced, intense and emotional.

In the lead up to the release of the book, Shealea @ Shut Up, Shealea kicked off a blog tour hosted by her Caffeine Book Tours. The tour included reviews, interviews and excerpts, and I highly recommend everyone check out the posts for more reasons to fall in love with Helen’s writing!

As for me, I have four more reasons for you to read The Oremere Chronicles.

* Stunning and in-depth world building.

And watch it unfold slowly! You learn some things, and then as the story continues, you learn more. It’s not info-dumped on you! It all makes sense! It’s so well-done, it’s now a bar for me for fantasy books to reach.

* Fascinating magic system.

This ties back to world building. It could have been quite cliche and used as a deus ex machina in a lot of ways, but it wasn’t! It all worked in the story and there is so much in the world to still explore.

* Twists galore!

Some of them are predictable. The breadcrumbs are there for you to follow, and you expect them, but then they happen, and you’re still left breathless. Or is that just me? There were some that came out of NOWHERE and then I stopped to think about them, and they were all foreshadowed. Seriously, so good.

* Four amazingly strong POV characters.

The side characters are also great! Fleshed out and three dimensional! But the main characters? As you see them grow over the course of the three books, you get super attached. They can be morally gray, they can be annoying at times, they can be strong and weak. They are well-crafted, and I loved them so much I made character aesthetics for them*.

*I am very average at making aesthetics but I had fun, and that’s what counts, right?

Of course, there are a whole range of reasons to read the novels, but these are some of my favourite things about the novels. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the reviews and posts for more, and join the Twitter Chat at the end of the tour on August 3, 2019 | 9 AM EST / 9 PM PHT! The chat is completely spoiler free and therefore reading the books is not a requirement! The chat will be hosted by Caffeine Book Tours, via the @CaffeineTours account on Twitter.
