I generally enjoy science-fiction stories. Fantasy is my favourite, and a blend of sci-fi and fantasy even more so – but science-fiction is pretty high up on my list of ‘genres I like to read’.
But while I was putting this list together, I realised there were fewer ‘instant’ buttons than ‘handle with care’ ones, so this post is going to be pretty short.
, the final frontier*. Books set in space, with humanity spread among the stars is almost always a draw for me. Spaceships and traveling from planet to planet, with survival and life being the goal. Give them to me. Bonus points for any books involving space pirates.
- Another thing I have enjoyed is time travel! Give me books where time travel is based on science, where there are rules and consequences, where it mixes history and science and technology.
- A subset of traveling through time is traveling through dimensions! I’ve not seen as many books regarding parallel dimensions as I would like, and if I have they usually are more fantasy than science-fiction, but more about the consequences of messing with time and the fabric of space, and just – more please?
*I don’t actually know much about Star Trek but I love the quote.
