Quarterly Wrap Up

jul – sept 2020; it’s a wrap

Surprisingly, this wrap-up isn’t late! The new organisational system I’m slowly trying to incorporate into my life is really helping.

This past quarter has been equal parts a blur and so slow, I just want it to be 2021 already. But then, my second trimester during my first pregnancy was much the same. It’s just that the situation the world over isn’t really helping.

The bright side is that we’re going out a little more – to places that are not too full of people and always wearing a mask – so we get a change of pace and of scenery. We actually just went to a beach again, had a small picnic, and the beaches here are not too crowded so it’s relatively safe!

I’ve read some this past quarter, but what I’m most excited about is that this September, I started using Notion properly, and I’m in love with it. I feel a little bit more organised and a little bit more productive, because opening up the page every day makes me want to do things.

I am still procrastinating on most video-related things though. Maybe once I stop comparing myself to other BookTubers, I’ll be better at keeping up with it.

My Etsy store is still not open, though I’ve been considering changing that fact.

  • Office work has been consistently going pretty well, and I don’t need to go in to the office to get things done, so this immunocompromised woman is very relieved.
  • I had a friend custom order some bookmark designs (supportive friends are the best, I love her) and her students were very happy with them!

While it has been slow going, I have been reading, and that’s always great. Book reviews are slowly being posted though.

  • Goodreads Challenge: 19/10 books read.
I have DNF-ed a couple of books this year too, and I actually have one I haven’t counted because my copy was missing the last few pages.
  • Currently Reading: The Love Virus by Eleni Cay
Reading it for a blog tour hosted by Caffeine Book Tours!
  • Next On My List: We Hunt The Flame by Hafsah Faizal
I tried something new for building my TBR for October! It’ll be in my next BookTube video.

Again, I have not been very active, but be sure to check out these bloggers! This is a non-exhaustive list of some of my favourite bloggers. I only wish I were more active reading blog posts, but I’m very bad with keeping up with things.

There are MANY bloggers I adore so this is just a short list of them! Do check them out for diverse recommendations and passionate discussions!

Three more months till the end of the year! How are you coping with the way time is fake and the world is a dumpster fire?

I’m Ara, a Southeast Asian writer who someday hopes to have published a novel, and who is currently losing herself in the worlds created by others. I love books and food and television and blogging and I get distracted and sidetracked easily.
