Much About Content Creation

A little while back, I started writing about content creation on LinkedIn. A few notes and things I have learned over the years as I have written, and done art, and written some more. As I have suffered writer’s block and imposter syndrome and struggled with my worth as a creator.

The thing about content creation is this – it is not easy. It will never be easy.

But practice and working at it makes it seem that way.

Not giving up is half the battle. That doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to change your focus, or take a break of course. But don’t give up.

That is the main lesson I’ve taken away from my journey as a content creation.

Everybody has their own approach to creating content, but I put together a few tips and tricks that have worked for me, a few pieces of advice as well, and thought, hey, why don’t I share them here as well?

I will be posting them over the next few months, but for a quick overview of the first round of what is coming your way:

  • CONTENT CREATION 101: Commit To What You Create
  • CONTENT CREATION 102: The First Draft Is For You
  • CONTENT CREATION 103: Find Your Own “Write Drunk, Edit Sober”
  • INTERLUDE: THE PROCRASTINATION PROBLEM

These are just the first four little pieces of advice and tips that have worked to keep me creating almost consistently. (Life with kids and the pandemic has meant that my content creation did suffer in between, but I’m trying to get back to it.)

I will be linking to the posts here once they go up.

I created an infographic on how I approach creating content, slimmed down and presented in ten steps.

Sometimes I have trouble working until my deadline is approaching me. Oops?

  • Do you have any pieces of advice or tips that have worked for you?

If you follow me on LinkedIn, you might have seen my posts already, but I hope you enjoy them anyway.

If you like my content, consider leaving me a tip on Ko-fi.

I’m Ara, a Southeast Asian writer who someday hopes to have published a novel, and who is currently losing herself in the worlds created by others. I love books and food and television and blogging and I get distracted and sidetracked easily.
